“101 DALMATIANS” ON OTISVILLE’S STAGE: GREAT FAMILY FUN!

Your view might be spotted, but our students’ talent and energy will be plain to see on Otisville’s stage as they bring you Disney’s “101 Dalmatians Kids” this Thursday and Friday night, Feb. 9 and 10.

Sixty-three students in total, including stage and tech crew, take on this audacious production--with a lot of good help and guidance.

“It takes a whole community of people to bring something like this together, and we are very fortunate to have a very supportive and engaged community in Otisville,” said director Melissa Norwood, a second grade teacher. In addition to many parent volunteers, the production involves AIS reading teacher, Susan Tonnessen, as assistant director; middle school general music teacher, Shane Peters, as musical director; school greeter, Allison McCaffrey, as production assistant; and parent Michelle Nelson, working with the stage crew.

Playing the vain and villainous Cruella De Vil is fifth grader Mia Twyman. She loves the role, but could do without the screaming. “It makes me uncomfortable,” she said. Mia loves drama because it allows her to express herself, and she is considering an acting career.

“Acting makes me happy, especially the singing,” said Madison Boyce, a fifth grader playing Anita. “Acting gives you a better social life,” said Aiden Adamczyk, a fifth grader who also favors singing above all and dreams of a singing career.

All are welcome, and there is no cover charge. The shows are at 7 p.m. Come out and support our drama students, volunteers, and the arts in Otisville!
