There are seven musical ensembles in the high school’s band program. The number alone impressive. More impressive still is the talent of our student and teacher musicians, and the level of their performances.

On Monday, Feb. 12, at 7 p.m., make your way to the high school auditorium for an outstanding, highly entertaining Pops Concert:

• The Symphonic Band II:
Thomas Stickney, Director
—“Africa: Ceremony, Song and Ritual,” Africa-inspired composition
—“Africa,” the classic rock tune by the 80s band, “Toto,” number one tune on the 1982 US Billboard Chart

• Jazz Lab I: Matthew Christy, Director
— “Every Little Thing She Does is Magic,” written and composed by Sting and “The Police”

• Jazz Lab II: Thomas Stickney, Director
—“Orange Colored Sky,” upbeat classic swing tune, featuring the Jazz Lab II vocalist
