Today is a D day


Tonight is the Minisink Valley varsity football homecoming game vs FDR at 7 pm John Bell Field.   As a reminder, all Middle School students must be accompanied by an adult or they will not be permitted to attend the game.  Middle School students attending this game, and all subsequent home games, must have appropriate adult supervision.  Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Cheerleading information meeting:  There will be a mandatory parent/student meeting for all those interested in trying out for high school cheerleading for the winter competition season on Monday, October 27th at 7 pm in the high school library.  Parents of 8th graders who are interested in cheering at the JV or Varsity level  are invited to attend.  For questions or information, please contact Coach Archiere.

Modified Winter Sports sign ups are taking place now on the bulletin board by the Phys Ed offices.  You must sign up and take a permission slip home to be signed and returned to the school nurse.  Winter sports include:  Wrestling, Boys Basketball, and Girls Basketball.  Only 7th and 8th grade students are eligible for modified sports.

Today is an A day



There will be a school dance tonight from 6 - 8 pm.  Students in 6, 7, and 8 grade who attend Minisink Valley Middle School are invited to attend.  Please remember all school rules apply.  Tickets will be on sale during lunch periods on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday.  Tickets are $5 and MUST BE PURCHASED AT SCHOOL - THERE WILL BE NO TICKET SALES AT THE DOOR.  You must bring your signed permission slip to the dance for admission.    Refreshments will be available for purchase during the dance - please bring small bills for the concession stand.


Dance photos will be taken at the school dance.  Each photo will cost $3.00 and you will receive two 4 x 6 copies of your picture.  Additional copies will be available at a cost of $1.50 each.

Reminder:  TODAY there will be an EARLY DISMISSAL drill as part of the county-wide Emergency Management Plan.  The Middle School dismissal will be at 1:55 pm on Wednesday and ALL STUDENTS MUST LEAVE THE CAMPUS AT THE TIME OF DISMISSAL.


Reminder:  Schools will be closed tomorrow in observance of Rosh Hashanah. 

 
The Middle School Tech Crew is looking for 6th, 7th and 8th grade students who are interested in audio/visual area to help out with concerts, auditorium set up, assemblies and drama productions.  Sign up sheets are on the door of room 215 and will take place the week of September 22 - September 25.

Middle School pictures will be on Friday, September 26, 2014. Please note that ALL middle school students have received their order forms. They should be filled out and brought in on the day of pictures. There will be a school dance on Friday, September 26th from 6 - 8 pm.  Students in 6, 7, and 8 grade who attend Minisink Valley Middle School are invited to attend.  Please remember all school rules apply.  Tickets will be on sale during lunch periods on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday.  Tickets are $5 and MUST BE PURCHASED AT SCHOOL - THERE WILL BE NO TICKET SALES AT THE DOOR.  You must bring your signed permission slip to the dance for admission.    Refreshments will be available for purchase during the dance - please bring small bills for the concession stand.


Dance photos will be taken on Friday at the school dance.  Each photo will cost $3.00 and you will receive two 4 x 6 copies of your picture.  Additional copies will be available at a cost of $1.50 each.


The Builders Club will meet next Wednesday, October 1st.  The meeting will be held in the Library and you should plan to take the 3:15 bus home or have a ride here to pick you up no later than 3:15.  If you are interested in running for an office in Builder's Club, you must write a short speech and give it to Ms. Anderson no later than September 29th.

Reminder:  On Wednesday, September 24 there will be an EARLY DISMISSAL drill as part of the county-wide Emergency Management Plan.  The Middle School dismissal will be at 1:55 pm on Wednesday and ALL STUDENTS MUST LEAVE THE CAMPUS AT THE TIME OF DISMISSAL.


Reminder:  Schools will be closed on Thursday, September 25th in observance of Rosh Hashanah. 

 
The Middle School Tech Crew is looking for 6th, 7th and 8th grade students who are interested in audio/visual area to help out with concerts, auditorium set up, assemblies and drama productions.  Sign up sheets are on the door of room 215 and will take place the week of September 22 - September 25.

Tonight the Minisink Valley varsity football team will be taking on Monroe-Woodbury for this year's home opener at John Bell Field.   As a reminder, all Middle School students must be accompanied by an adult or they will not be permitted to attend the game.  Middle School students attending this game, and all subsequent home games, must have appropriate adult supervision.  Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Any 8th Grade boy who has a competitive swimming background or is interested in Diving for the Varsity team should see Ms. Sutera by the end of this week.


There will be a Student Government meeting today immediately after school in the Library.  Please have your ride here by 3:15 or plan to take the late bus home.
 

Students who are interested in helping our soldiers who are serving overseas and who would like to participate in veteran's projects and support the veterans in our community are invited to attend the first meeting of the American Legion Kids' Club.  The meeting will be held after school today in room 215.   You must plan to take the 3:15 bus home or have a ride here to pick you up by 3:15.

7th/8th Grade Open House will be tonight:   The evening begins at 6 pm in the Middle School auditorium.   Students were given a schedule to complete and bring home for parents/caregivers to bring to Open House.  Copies of the schedule will be available in your student's homebase classroom.  Please be reminded that the evening is designed for adults to attend, so adults are requested to make childcare arrangements for children/students.

All girls interested in trying out for modified volleyball should meet with Ms. Berman in the gym at the beginning of your lunch period today for a quick informational meeting.


The boys modified soccer team will be holding tryouts starting today.  Coach Zamorski will meet you in the cafeteria IMMEDIATELY after school.  Make sure you have appropriate athletic attire.  Practice will be ending at 4:30 pm.  Please make sure you have a ride home at this time.


Modified Cross Country will start today after school.  Please make sure you have your physical and permission slip in to the school nurse or you will not be able to practice.  Please meet in the cafeteria after school.  You will need a ride home at 4:00 and you need to be picked up from the high school track.


Open House for parents of 6th grade students will be Wednesday, September 10 from 6 pm to 8 pm.  Open House for parents of 7th and 8th grade students will be Wednesday, September 17th from 6 pm to 8 pm.
