"To motivate young people to be better citizens."

This comprehensive and intensive program is localized for Minisink Valley HS JROTC cadets. The course of study is an extraordinary dual curricular and extra-curricular program for students in grades 9-12.   The program is managed, organized, and led by the senior teenage cadets with assistance of their instructors.

Though it is a government funded and school funded program, JROTC does not incur a military obligation or commitment of any sort. Cadets are not required to serve in the military because of participation in JROTC.  Military tactics nor any other sort of controversial skills are taught.  Citizenship is the primary focus of the program. However, should a cadet choose to pursue a military career, or any career, JROTC develops an excellent foundation of discipline, honor, integrity, and respect.
