CLASS OF 2019 GIRLS VARSITY BASKETBALL ATHLETES RECOGNIZED


Three graduating seniors and members of Minisink Valley’s varsity basketball team were officially recognized along with their families and coaches on Thursday, February 14.

Saige Colon is a three-year varsity veteran and captain for the basketball team this season. Saige is currently in the top-20 students of her graduating class and is the secretary of the National Honor Society. She is planning on continuing her education in mathematics with the goal of becoming a secondary math teacher.

“As Saige’s coach, and father, I couldn’t be more proud to see what an incredible and successful person she has become,” Coach Raul Colon said.

Elly Stacklum is a two-year varsity veteran and captain for the basketball team this season. Elly plans on attending Orange County Community College (OCCC) in the fall. She will continue her basketball career at OCCC. 

“I look forward to seeing her succeed on the court as well as the classroom,” Mr. Colon said.

Nora Hanlon is a two-year varsity veteran and captain for the basketball team this season. Nora is planning on continuing her education at the University of West Virginia in sports & exercise psychology. “It has been a pleasure coaching this young lady and I wish her all the best,” Coach Colon said.


CONGRATULATIONS to Minisink’s Class of 2019 basketball players for their hard work, commitment and dedication to the sport over the years, and to their school's basketball program.
