Summer break offers us an opportunity to experience a different perspective in our daily living during the months of July and August.  For this reason, summer is regarded by many as a period where we can pause, reflect and re-group.   We hope that these past two months have afforded you the chance to do so and that you find yourself ready to head into the Fall season and the re-opening of school for our children.

On behalf of the Board of Education and the entire faculty, staff and administration of our school district, it is a pleasure to send you welcome back greetings as we prepare for the start of a new school year.

We are anxious to have our two campuses come alive once again.  The first day of school for our students is Wednesday, September 3, 2014  Welcome to a new and exciting school year.

Minisink Area Camp, Camp MAC, is in full swing here at Minisink Valley.   Campers from grades kindergarten through fifth grade participate in two weeks of camp activities such as art, music, and physical education while enjoying the fun of theme days like Silly Hair Day, Halloween in July, and Pajama Day.  One of the most popular themes is Come as Your Favorite Animal and the camp counselors will paint your face to match the animal!  Pictured here is one of the happy campers enjoying the tie dye t-shirt activity.  This two-week session wraps up with a Camp Show to be held on Thursday, July 17 at 10:30 AM in the middle school auditorium.  A big thank you to the Towns of Greenville, Minisink, and Wawayanda , in cooperation with the Orange County Youth Bureau, who fund two two-week sessions of Camp MAC where almost 300 campers have had lots of time with friends and fun with the many different activities.
