Congratulations to Junior and Orange-Ulster BOCES Career and Technical Education (CTE) student Nariyah Nelson, who earned a gold medal at the recent New York State SkillsUSA competition.
She was among five OUB CTE students to earn top honors.
Nariyah and team members Genevieve Roldan of the Middletown School District and Lorelai Ellison of the Valley Central School District earned gold medals in the Culinary Quiz Bowl, which tests their general academic knowledge, SkillsUSA knowledge, and Culinary-related knowledge.
In total, 47 OUB CTE students traveled to Syracuse competition, which brought together the top CTE students from across the state to showcase their skills and compete in a variety of events.
