MV Elementary’s 2024 ‘Transportation Day’ is an educational and fun day for students

Minisink Valley Elementary School held its annual Transportation Day today, May 16, where students had a chance get up close to vehicles they see in their communities and speak with the people who operate them.

Racing cars, fire trucks, police cars, municipal trucks, tractors, antique cars. a food truck  and school buses were among the vehicles on display for students to visit.

“Our students see most of these vehicles every day as part of their daily lives,” said Principal Deborah Gallant. “We are grateful to our community partners for taking the time to visit our campus, meet our students, allow them to actually get close up to these vehicles and talk with their operators about the important roles they play in our community. This day wouldn’t be possible without their support and involvement. ”

Event was chaired by Lisa Yodice, Transportation Department bus driver,  and sponsored by the Elementary School PTO.
