The Minisink Valley Board of Education believes that, in partnership with the community, parents, administration, faculty, and staff, its primary mission is to enable the individual student to identify and achieve maximum potential.
Board of Education members are unpaid public officials elected by the voters to take formal legal actions and set policy for the conduct of the district.
Policies of the Minisink Valley Central School District/Board of Education
A major function of the Board of Education is to set the direction for the district. Board members do this by writing and reviewing policies. When procedures and guidelines are set, they are done so in conjunction with these policies. Please visit BoardDocs to read the policy manual.

Board of Education goals
Goal 1:
The district will continue to promote an atmosphere valuing Minisink Valley’s diversity, which supports a learning environment respectful of all students, staff and community members and maximizes each student’s academic achievement and success. The district has no tolerance to all acts of racism, discrimination, hateful actions and speech.
Goal 2:
The district will develop a fiscally responsible 2025-26 budget, to be approved by taxpayers, that is New York State Tap Cap Law compliant and supports a high quality and equitable education opportunity for all students.
Goal 3:
The district will continue to expand and improve upon internal and external stakeholder communication outreach efforts to maximize awareness and understanding of issues involved in district operations in addition to informing stakeholders about district news and information.
Goal 4:
The district will continue to maintain a safe and secure learning environment for all district staff, students and community members and will continue to make upgrades and improvements to all areas concerning security.
Goal 5:
By the end of the 2024-25 school year, the district will demonstrate active engagement in the development of a comprehensive strategic plan for the 2025-26 school year that will guide the district over the next five years. This will include transparent communication with the community through regular updates, stakeholder feedback sessions, and a collaborative process aimed at setting clear, actionable goals to enhance student success, equity, and innovation for the upcoming school year.
