The recent Nor’easter gave Minisink Valley School District elementary physical education teachers the opportunity to get students outside and exercising in an especially fun way: In the snow!
Thanks to the generosity of the Otisville Elementary PTO, a class set of snowshoes for the physical education classes was purchased last year. After the latest snowstorm, there was finally plenty of snow for Stephanie Giufre’s fifth-grade gym students to try outside and try this new this new physical education activity.
At Minisink Valley Intermediate School, physical education teachers Theresa Uhelsky and Ross Potter took their students outside for snowtubing. A fast tube ride down the hill required a long uphill hike to repeat the fun!
