summer reading art

Looking for summer reading opportunities for your student?

The Aaron Judge “ALL RISE Foundation,” (https://www.aaronjudgeallrisefoundation.org/)

established by Yankees Captain Aaron Judge, inspires youth to become responsible citizens by engaging them in activities that encourage them to reach unlimited possibilities. Through Sept. 6, one of the initiatives in the program includes motivating children to read throughout the summer. It’s a great opportunity to encourage reading and movement of your students during the summer months!

Additionally, through Sept. 12, your student can visit the Scholastic Home Base, (https://www.scholastic.com/site/summer-reading.html ) a completely free digital destination which offers stories, characters, games, and a community of readers!

Also: with a Ramapo Catskill Library System (RCLS) card, which you can get at a local library, (https://rcls.org/) you can have access to all books at all libraries!

Encourage your student to have a reading goal! (For example: Find time to read every day, read a set number of minutes a week, read a set number of books over the summer, choose all your books from a specific genre or a mix of genres…whatever works for your student!) Summer reading is more than just enjoyable, it helps children keep their skills sharp so they're ready for a new year of learning!
