The Girls Basketball Program was recently honored by the Orange County Basketball Officials Association (OCBOA) with its annual Sportsmanship Award.
The award — a banner — is presented to a school district with a basketball program that has demonstrated the greatest sportsmanship across all levels of play (modified, junior varsity and varsity teams) that season.
The girls basketball program received this recognition and banner just prior to the start of its recent, final varsity home game.
“The award is voted on by game officials who have worked modified, junior varsity and varsity level basketball games across Orange County this season and it represents the tremendous pride Minisink Valley’s girls’ basketball teams take in demonstrating sportsmanship at every level,” said Athletic Director Tim Bult.
The Girls Basketball Program was also awarded OCBOA’s Sportsmanship Award for the 2018-19, 2019-20 and 2022-23 seasons.
