“We’re proud to honor Coach Cunningham and recognize his very important legacy at Minisink Valley,” Superintendent Brian Monahan said. “And, as promised, his beloved shamrocks are included in this recognition.”

The Board of Education unanimously approved the naming of the high school’s varsity soccer field as “The Coach Sean T. Cunningham Soccer Pitch” at its March 30 meeting. The Board noted this was a fitting and everlasting tribute to Coach Cunningham, who passed away in early March, and gave 50 years of dedicated service to the community as a teacher, coach, mentor, role model, friend, therapist and father-figure.

The dedication rain date will be Wednesday, Aug. 23 at 4 p.m.
