Congratulations to the “4-Peat” Varsity Competition Cheer Team, winners of the Section IX, Class B Competitive Cheer Championship!
The team now advances to state competition on Saturday, March 2 at the Visions Federal Credit Union Veterans Memorial Arena in Binghamton.
“Today was such an important day for our Minisink Varsity Cheerleaders,” said varsity Head Coach Patti Archiere. “These girls walked on the mat determined to succeed, and it definitely showed. They worked very hard all season to reach their goals, had an undefeated season in Section IX, and are excited and ready to represent Minisink Valley and Section IX at the State Cheerleading championships. We are so very grateful for everyone who came out to support us.”
Athletic Director Tim Bult said it was an incredible feat to win four straight sectional championships.
“This team continues to dominant the competition on the mat and this is due to the commitment and tremendously hard work of each team member, their coach and program assistant,” he added. “We never take for granted the opportunity to compete for the state championship. Thank you to everyone who played a role in this team’s success: Our parents, school and community.”
