Four High School Key Club students were recognized for their dedication, efforts and community contributions during the New York District of Key Club International’s 76th annual Leadership Training Conference, held in Albany March 15 to 17.
They are:
Kaitlyn McElduff, 2023-2024 Key Club President, who was named the recipient of the $1,000 Governor’s Scholarship.
Shannon Cahill, 2023-2024 Key Club Vice President, was awarded Distinguished Club Vice President.
Kathryn Jones, Key Club 2023-2024 Club Treasurer, was awarded Distinguished Club Treasurer.
Nyree Hidalgo, 2023-24 Key Club Webmaster, was awarded Distinguished Club Webmaster. Nyree is also the 2024-2025 lieutenant governor-Elect and will be taking over for Andrew Hines, who served as Division 13 lieutenant governor during the 2022-23 and 2023-24 service years.
Additionally, the High School’s Key Club was awarded second place for the Traditional Scrapbook Award category.
Throughout the year, the Key Club documented each service project and fundraiser to include in their scrapbook. Natalie Deoragh, the 2024-25 president-elect, brought together a dedicated scrapbook committee who played a pivotal role in bringing the club’s hard work to life.
