The Mid-Hudson Board of Volleyball Officials has selected the district's Volleyball Program as the recipient of its 2024 Sportsmanship Award .
The award, a banner to be hung in the high school's gym, was presented at the Jan. 23 Board of Education meeting to varsity, junior varsity and modified players and coaches by Laurie Muollo.
Ms. Muollo explained each of the organization's officials rate the teams they work with after each varsity, junior varsity and modified level game, and she was proud to announce that Minisink Valley was selected for this honor..
“Our varsity team won the League, Section and Regional Championships this fall and our team participated in the New York State Final Four Championship," Athletic Director Tim Bult said. "This recognition is even more important because it's voted on by the game officials/referees who work with all three of our volleyball teams. To receive their sportsmanship banner shows the true character of our student-athletes, a quality that will lead them through life long after their final volleyball game.”
