Congratulations to High School choral students Charlie Curabba, Edward Edwards and Grant Teitelbaum, who were selected to be members of the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) All-National Honor Choir! They will perform at the ACDA's National Conference, to be held March 18 to 22 in Dallas.
Charlie has been named to the Treble Choir; and Edward and Grant have been named to the Tenor/Bass Choir.
In order to be selected for this opportunity, the students had to submit a recorded audition which showcased their ranges through singing scales, an excerpt from their NYSSMA solos and an excerpt from a new song provided by ACDA which they had to learn.
"Charlie, Eddie, and Grant are all incredibly dedicated choral students who have a strong passion for singing and music," said Choir Director Danielle Estrada. "There were over 5,000 applicants for the ACDA National Honor Ensembles this year, and about 1,200 were selected between the four different choirs. This is an incredible opportunity for these students, and I know they are so excited. There is nothing more rewarding as a teacher than being able to see your students succeed, and I am just so happy that they are able to have this incredible experience."
The ACDA's mission is to inspire excellence and nurture lifelong involvement in choral music for everyone through education, performance, composition and advocacy in addition to creating powerful artistic experiences and be advocates for cultural and educational change.
