Minisink Valley Elementary students raised  $3,037 for the American Heart Association through their participation in its Kids Heart Challenge.

During the challenge, students learned how their hearts work, what to do to keep their hearts healthy, activities to avoid that are not healthy for their hearts (vaping, tobacco, sugary foods, etc.), and participated in jump roping activities to exercise their hearts.

Students were also challenged to join the "Kangaroo Club." To make it into the Kangaroo Club, Kindergartners needed to jump 5 times in a row without a mistake, first-grade needed to jump 10 times in a row without a mistake and second-grade needed to jump 15 times in a row without a mistake.
