For your awareness, we’re writing to let you know the district is aware of a very upsetting and appalling video circulating involving students in one of the high school’s bathrooms today.  We find this behavior to be completely unacceptable and not representative of what we expect from our students.

We immediately began an investigation and reported this to our law enforcement partners, who quickly responded to our campus to begin their own investigation, which is continuing.

Beyond this, and because of strict confidentiality regulations, we cannot further discuss this incident.  To be very clear: The district has a zero-tolerance policy for this type of behavior, as noted on our Code of Conduct. Those involved will face appropriate and significant consequences.

We’re sharing this information in the interest of transparency. Unfortunately, this is another opportunity for us to again remind your children about behavioral expectations in all district buildings.  We also want to again remind you, as parents and guardians, about the equal importance of monitoring your children’s use of social media, including the social media platforms they use, the content on those platforms and what they may share on those platforms.

We appreciate the rapid involvement of our law enforcement partners and for their ongoing commitment to ensure the safety of everyone in all our buildings; and to our EMS partners for the care they provided.  If necessary, we will reach out again with any updates. Thank you.

Sincerely,

Brian C. Monahan
