Six members of the Minisink Valley High School Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) Club earned medals at the recent FBLA State Leadership Conference in Rochester.
They were part of a 14-member Minisink Valley FBLA student delegation at the conference, which was attended by over 700 students statewide. Students attended business-related workshops, participated in over 60 competitive events, attended social events and received advice from entrepreneur and educator Christina Farinacci-Roberts.
Earning medals for outstanding achievement in competitive events were:

Baylie Touw, Agribusiness (objective test)
Fourth Place
Colin Hansen, Agribusiness (objective test)
Vincent Galligan, Introduction to Marketing Concepts (objective test) and Introduction to Business Presentation (performance event)
Nyree Hidalgo, Journalism (objective test)
Fifth Place
Richard Cai, Securities and Investments (objective test)
Audrey Guido, Business Communication (objective test)
Additionally, Audrey Guido, Nyree Hidalgo, Allyson Levin and Baylie Touw were admitted to the New York State FBLA Honor Society. It was the first time four Minisink Valley FBLA students were admitted during one school year.
"The State Leadership Conference is a wonderful experience on so many levels,” said advisor Seth Johnson. “It allows our students to make new personal and professional connections. This conference also lets our members test their FBLA knowledge against the best and brightest from all over the state.”
