Senior Gavin Rossi won an individual state championship at the recent NYSPHSAA and Federation Championship meet, hosted by Cicero-North Syracuse High School

Gavin won the Division I title and Federation fourth- place medal in the boys 3,000-meter steeplechase race.

In the championship meet, Minisink Valley won 10 medals in the Division I and Federation classifications.

In the field events, Delila Kronimus placed 11th in Division I and 14th in the Federation girls pole vault.

Reigning champion Ella Michelitch earned  Division I and Federation silver medals in the girls high jump.

Logan Schupner earned Division I bronze and Federation fourth place medals in the boys pole vault.

On the track, the team of Brian Capper, Logan Cohen, Zouhair Elsibai, Matthew Monahan and Carter Rossi placed 31st in the Federation boys 4×800 meter relay.

Sprints specialist Kessler Hirsch placed fifth in the Division I 200-meter dash.

The squad of Robert LaBarbera, Jordan Mabra, John Mattera, Jon Mausling and Gavin Rossi raced to bronze medals in Division I and sixth-place medals in the Federation championship 4×400 meter relay.

Seven individuals and four relay teams will close out their 2024 season with a trip to the New Balance Nationals Outdoor Track & Field Championships, hosted by the University of Pennsylvania’s Franklin Field in Philadelphia. They will  vie for national championships and All-American medals June 13 through 16.
