Seniors Madison Boyce and Dylan Williams are among the high school seniors who were honored June 6 at the annual Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association (OCIAA) Senior Scholar Athlete Celebration, held at the Country Club at Otterkill.
About Madison
Madison has a 100.24 GPA and will attend Penn State this fall to major in pre-med. She is a member of the varsity soccer, indoor/outdoor track & field and flag football team. In addition to holding varsity letters in soccer, track & field and flag football, she is the soccer team’s captain and is the recipient of multiple sportsmanship awards for soccer.
She’s a four year volunteer for the Middle School’s Project Cooperation Program, is a Humane Society volunteer and volunteers for modified track meets, tricky trays and donation drives.
About Dylan
Dylan has a 100.8 GPA and will attend Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and will major in mechanical engineering with plans to play club baseball. He’s a member of the varsity football, basketball and baseball teams. He holds seven varsity letters; has been a captain and treasurer of the baseball team; and was named the basketball team’s “Most Valuable Player” in his senior year; basketball “Player of the Year” in his junior year; and basketball “Student of the Year” in his sophomore year.
Dylan is a member of the National Honor Society, Future Business Leaders of American (FBLA) , is a peer tutor and is Warrior Kindness Award recipient. He volunteers his time with Minisink Cares.
Keynote speaker was Brian Riley, who is in his 20th season of serving as head coach for the ice hockey team at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point.
