Congratulations to Director of Health, Physical Education and Athletics Timothy Bult, who has been named Section IX Athletics' 2024 Dr. William F. Moran Service Award recipient.
The award is named after Dr. Moran, who served as the Valley Central School District superintendent and Section IX Athletics executive director for many years. It is awarded to an individual annually to recognize their service to athletics within Section IX.
Mr. Bult has been a Section IX athletic director for 29 years and Minisink Valley’s athletic director for the past 12 years. Before joining Minisink Valley, the director of physical education and athletics at the Fallsburg School District and prior to that, the athletic director and physical education teacher at the Liberty School District.
Mr. Bult has been a Section IX officer for 14 years, holding second vice president, first vice president, president and past positions multiple times. Currently, he is Section IX president.
Additionally, he is Section IX’s Combining of Teams chairman; and a long-term member of the Section IX football and baseball committees. Mr. Bult is also chairman of the Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association (OCIAA) football and safety committees and is a member of its Scheduling Committee.
“Mr. Bult is truly deserving of this recognition,” said Superintendent Brian Monahan. “His contributions to Section IX Athletics have made Section IX so well-respected in this region and beyond. But, his first priority is always doing what’s best for all student-athletes.”
Mr. Bult’s name has been inscribed on a perpetual plaque which will remain at Minisink Valley for the next year. He also has been presented with an individual plaque.
