Congratulations to Senior Brianna Foote, a member of the Varsity Girls Swimming team, who placed first in the 100m butterfly, is now its Section IX champion and has qualified for States!
She’ll be representing Minisink Valley at the NYSPHSAA Girls Swimming & Diving Championships, which will be held Nov. 21 to 23 at the Webster Aquatic Center at Webster High School in Webster.
The swim team also fared well, placing ninth overall in the competition. Individually, Briana also took third-place in the 100m backstroke; the 200m medley team of Natalie Wargo, Brianna Foote, Catherine Cucuzza and Treven Costello placed sixth; the 400m freestyle relay of Natalie Wargo, Brianna Foote, Catherine Cucuzza and Treven Costello placed eighth; the 200m freestyle relay made up of Catherine Cucuzza, Natalie Wargo, Treven Costello and Malunga Kinzonzi placed 13th.
Additionally, eighth-grader Madyson Thorpe placed 15th in diving; and seventh-grader Natalie Wargo made her Varsity debut in the 100m backstroke, placing 16th.
