Senior Varsity Swimmer Lukas Struble is advancing to the NYSPHSAA championship following his tie for third-place in the 100m butterfly and his fourth-place finish in the 200m freestyle at last week’s Section IX championship meet! The NYSPHSAA Boys Swim and Dive Championships will take place March 6 to 8 at Ithaca College.
The boys swimming and diving team finished in 12th place overall, but all athletes achieved personal records in their events. This includes: Junior Caleb Decker and eighth-grader Jacob Yourman, who placed 26th and 27th respectively in the 500m freestyle; sophomore Eddie Edwards, who placed 21st in the 100m backstroke; senior Anthony Cucuzza and junior Owen Skinner, who placed 14th and 19th respectively in the 100m breaststroke; and freshman Brayden McGovern, who placed 8th in diving. Sophomore Vincent Galligan and freshman William Monahan were part of the 200m freestyle relay which placed 13th.
