Congratulations to six Minisink Valley seniors who have signed Division I NCAA National Letters of Intent (NLI) on Nov. 13, which is National Signing Day.

 Logan Barry, lacrosse, Lehigh University

“Logan is a dynamic attacker who can see the field as a distributor, as well as finish to the cage in an instant,” said Assistant Coach Rory Boice. “Her ability to create immediate offense is a challenge to any defender and her ride from offense to defense is relentless.”

Riley Boice, lacrosse, Marist College

“Riley is a gritty midfielder who fights for every ground-ball and will score with aggressive takes to the goal with both hands,” said Coach Boice. “She hustles on the draw-circle and her dogged-effort defensively creates headaches for opponents.”

PJ Duke, wrestling, Penn State

“PJ is the best wrestler in the country and is now in the conversation as the best high school wrestler ever,” said Coach Kevin Gallagher. “To go along with his unbelievable wrestling ability, PJ is a great teammate, leader and friend. PJ is also one of the most liked students in class and I have never heard him say a bad thing about anyone. PJ is all class on and off the mat. As far as the academic accomplishments, PJ is an Honor Roll Student. He also does much volunteer work as PJ helps with our Youth Wrestling program as well as does clinics to raise money for kids with cancer. PJ has raised over $15,000 last year and plans to continue raising money for kids with cancer. PJ's highlights could fill up a small book.”

  • Bronze Medal Winner in the U 20 World Games

  • National Champion and currently ranked as the “best pound for pound wrestler” in the nation

  • Third-place winner in the Senior National Championships which includes many Division 1 national place winners.

  • Winner of the Bill Farrell Tournament at the New York Athletic Club, where he dominated the senior level competition including beating a two-time Division I All-Americans in the finals.

 

CJ Kuiken, lacrosse, East Carolina University

“CJ is an outstanding athlete who can run past her defender to bury a goal and cause a turnover with her pesky defense,” said Coach Boice. “She has a quick release on her shots and will put the ball where she wants from the draw.”

Kaleigh Murphy, lacrosse, University of Massachusetts at Lowell

“Kaleigh is an exceptional defender who has a nose for the ball and the ability to create transition quickly,” said Coach Boise. “Her aggressive manner on defensive is exhausting and her field awareness on clears is fundamental to our offense.”

Isabella Odland, lacrosse, Wagner College

"'Moose’ is an excellent goalie who is a brick-wall in the cage and can change the momentum of a game with lights-out saves,” said Coach Boice. “With cat-like reflexes and a fearless approach, she is the anchor to our defense.”
