Congratulations to Boys Varsity Head Coach Kevin Gallagher and Assistant Coach Scott Hendershot, who were honored at the team’s Jan. 22 match against Warwick for their recent and significant wrestling team milestone wins.
Coach Gallagher, who is coaching his 26th wrestling season at Minisink Valley and 35th overall as a wrestling coach, coached his 600th team victory on the mat over Cornwall on Dec. 21.
Coach Hendershot, who is coaching his 23rd wrestling season at Minisink Valley and 27th overall as a wrestling coach, coached his 500th team victory as an assistant wrestling coach over Ballston Spa at the Dec. 7 dual meet tournament hosted by Ballston Spa.
“We are fortunate to have both of these individuals leading our wrestling program all these years,” said Athletic Director Tim Bult. “Their love of Minisink Valley and our community and students is only matched by their coaching longevity and their athletes’ success on the mat and in the classroom.”
