Dear Minisink Valley school community:
We’re excited to announce the launch of our new strategic planning process, a pivotal initiative that will shape the future of the Minisink Valley School District. Our Board of Education has decided it’s time to develop a plan which will guide us through 2030.
For those of you unfamiliar, strategic planning in education is the process of setting goals, deciding how to achieve them, and allocating resources to do so. It involves creating a vision for the future, which includes taking those goals and objectives and establishing the order in which to achieve them. It’s a guide for school leadership and the Board of Education so they can align their efforts for continuous improvement which ultimately benefits students and their academic achievements and successes.
We’re calling our planning process “VISION 2025” because we believe this acronym best represents what we want this plan to be: Providing “Vital Initiatives for Student Success, Innovation, Outreach and Nurturing.”
As we begin this journey, it’s critically important for you to be involved so our updated strategic plan can be the best it can be. We’re committed to considering your perspectives and opinions on the direction we should take. We invite and encourage you to share your insights on what we are excelling at and where there's room for growth. We are eager to hear your thoughts on what we should prioritize for the future.

This “ThoughtExchange” survey platform allows you to contribute your thoughts anonymously. It’s unique because you can also view and rate the feedback provided by other community members and add to their “thoughts.” We encourage an open and ongoing dialogue, so feel free to revisit the platform often, keep the conversation alive and make your thoughts known to us. Your feedback will be instrumental in our future plans and this survey will remain open until Friday, Jan. 24.
Thank you for your engagement and support as we work together to shape the future of the Minisink Valley schools. Please look for us to follow-up with you on this important work in the coming months. We’re grateful for your ongoing partnership in the education of our community’s children.
Sincerely,
Joseph Flaherty
