Friday is Pizza Day in our elementary buildings! Take a peek at these adorable, little Otisville Elementary students, who are showing their preference for pepperoni. But! There's other nutritious options to choose from if students prefer something else. Remember breakfasts and lunches are free to all students!

Thank you to the Otisville PTO for purchasing these wonderful playthings for students to use at recess! Take a look at these second-graders having a great time outdoors with their friends!

GOING GOLD! Thank you to everyone for bringing awareness to the need for more research dollars to fund research for cures to pediatric cancer. The district glowed in various shades of yellow and gold!

Our faculty always goes above and beyond, including supporting the varsity football team and working at the game to help provide a safe and memorable time for all!

Settling into a new school year also means working together and using cooperative skills for a common purpose!
Stephanie Giufre’s Grades 2-3-4-5 students recently launched the school year with cooperative games! They were tasked with building “King Kong Skyscrapers,” where they worked together to build a free-standing structure. This activity is a great example of physical fitness fun, teamwork and cooperation combined the STEM components of physics and engineering!

It's Peace Day at Otisville Elementary! Students are sporting tie dye attire to mark the day, although the official International Day of Peace is tomorrow, Sept. 21. This year's international theme is “Cultivating a Culture of Peace” and draws inspiration from UNESCO's foundational belief that “wars begin in the minds of men, so it is in the minds of men that the defences of peace must be constructed."

District third-graders, like Stephanie Gove and Kirsten Reid’s third-graders, are increasing their proficiency in knowing the standard form, word form and expanded form in math! It’s an important skill.

District second-graders, like Lisa Grazino’s second-graders, are learning about fairy tales as part of the initial ELA work. Fairy tales and “tall” tales are taught in order to teach story elements such as setting, characters, beginning, middle, end --- and more --- in a way that young students find relatable. As part of their reading of “The Emperor’s New Clothes,” they are taking some time for writing practice and illustrating what they’re writing!

Maria Fenfert's fifth-grade music classes are starting off the school year with a fun game of "Musical Hot Potato!" When the musical hot potato lands on a student, he/she needs to name their favorite musical artist. It's a great "getting to know you" game!

Our cutie-pie kindergarteners at Otisville Elementary and the Elementary School are learning so much in these opening weeks of school, including how to navigate the lunch line! And, they quickly became really good at doing this, too!
